If you’re going to truly excel in your sport of choice, you’ll need a Coach. My name is Jacques Janse van Rensburg, and I work with aspiring athletes to increase their focus, power and technical proficiency . I believe in training to win and competing with sportsmanship. This, more than anything, is a direct reflection of my success as a Cyclist that has competed at the highest level of the sport.

My Journey

Professional cyclist with more than 15 years of experience. Competed in races like the Tour de France, Giro de Italia, and La Vuelta a Espagna. One day races Amstel Gold Race, Flesch Wallonie and Liege Bastogne Liege. Junior and Elite South African National Road Champion. I have also competed in the Cape Epic 3 times with Top 10 results on stages. Cycling and Training is my passion and I’m really privileged to have been at the Top level of professional cycling. I want to share my experience i have gained whilst training and racing at the pinnacle of the sport.

Coaching philosophy

The Peloton Project offers coaching to athletes of all ages and experience levels. Whether you are interested in getting fit for a specific event, or would like to improve your overall  performance, even if you have aspirations of becoming a professional. No athlete is the same and that is why I put an emphasis on working with each athlete on a individual basis. No two athletes will have the same program and training will be customized towards the individual as per fitness test result completed in the first week of training.  Please note all training is done via the Training Peaks online platform and at least a heart rate monitor is required to be able to start your journey with The Peloton Project.

Consultation

Consultation where information is gathered on the Athlete, goals and aspirations.

Assessment

Fitness test to be done on a indoor trainer or road depending on power meter availability.

Planning

Program is formulated taking into account the athletes goals and assessment results.

Execution

Coaching and mentoring with athletes to achieve results together.
